What Guests Are Saying
River Hill is a beautiful and well-maintained campground, praised for its stunning scenery and friendly hosts, Edie and Felix, who go above and beyond for guests. The facilities, including bathrooms, are consistently clean and well-cared for, making for a pleasant camping experience. While the access road has some washboards and there was an issue with fresh water pumps, these concerns do not overshadow the campground's overall appeal, and many visitors look forward to returning.

This campground is relatively small, but is ideally located right on the bank of the Rio Grande River. You can walk a few steps out of your campsite and fish in the river, or drive a short distance to fish in two lakes nearby.
The campground hosts are very friendly and helpful, fostering a family-like feeling throughout the campground. Restrooms are very clean, and the entire campground is kept extremely well maintained.
My only regret is that this campground is around five hours’ drive from my home! It was such a nice place that we plan to return again as soon as we can.

Edie and her husband do an excellent job maintaining the campground. Very personable and always helpful. One of my favorite camping places, made more special by Edie.

We had planned originally to only stay at River Hill for 3 days, but after being there, we cancelled all of our other reservations and ended up staying 10 days. The site is absolutely beautiful - right on the Rio Grande River. There are great hiking trails right near the campground and there really is not a bad site there. The hosts, Edie and Felix, were absolutely wonderful! They worked extremely hard to keep the campground clean and in beautiful shape. They are constantly working on improving the grounds and enhancing everyone's experience. If I could give this site 10 stars, I would! We will definitely be back! We came all the way from Maine!
