What Guests Are Saying
Thirty Mile Campground is highly praised for its beautiful mountain views, spacious and clean campsites, and friendly hosts who maintain spotless facilities. Visitors appreciate the campground's privacy, proximity to fishing spots, and access to hiking trails. The main concern noted was the rough 10-mile dirt road and occasional noise from generators, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds in Colorado. Spaces are large and clean. Bathrooms are kept clean and not smelly. Love this place!

Sadly, there are a few major changes to this camp which has caused my opinion of it to shift downward. We've been camping here for quite awhile; we camp here 1 to 2x a year and have been coming since about 1999.
The camp was previously hosted by a couple who did a fantastic job of keeping things clean. The outhouse were as clean as an outhouse could be, and the individual camp sites were well groomed in between guests.
This past summer, there were new hosts in camp, and the camp is not as well managed and cleaned as before. We were disappointed to find cigarette butts not only all over the ground in camp, but also in the firepits. Since we occasionally cook in our fire pit, we needed to clean that out prior to using it. Additionally, needing to wander through the camp and clean up cigarette butts in order to keep a 2 year old from grazing on them was likewise annoying.
Couple this in with the fact that pricing has jumped up significantly for this camp recently, and this camp is no longer the jewel that it was. The camp also charges you extra if you have more than one vehicle at your campsite. Note that this is at the discretion of the camp management company, not recreation.gov. If you ask Recreation.gov what that extra car charge might be, they will not be able to tell you.
This is a beautiful area. However, the loss of camp cleanliness, coupled with the extra price increase and extra vehicle charges make this more of a 2-3 star sort of camp

Beautiful phenomenal campground especially if you can get a spot on the river. Campsites are spacious and private with lots of trees. Moose and deer are plentiful. Clean restrooms and running cold water from the frost free. Hosts Terry & Carla were excellent! Will go back next year with more family!!!

very nice campground with a great hike going along the reservoir and into Weminuche wilderness. Camp hosts were excellent. Very good water from hydrants located around the campground. Views everywhere and the rio grande runs along the campground. Only downside was the 11-mile road in was a washboard about as bad as it gets.
