What Guests Are Saying
Moraine Park Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with stunning views of snow-capped mountains and abundant wildlife like deer and elk. Campers appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and convenient access to hiking trails. While some improvements could be made, such as better bathroom signage and more electrical sites, many visitors express a strong desire to return due to the campground's overall charm and serene ambiance.

We always enjoy our stays in RMNP and were excited to check out the reopened Moraine campground. It was overall quite pleasant and always exciting hearing the Elk bugling this time of year, and we had several deer come through our site.
D loop was mostly tent campers and fairly quiet even with some close together sites. This site was a good size, but the parking spot is up a bit of a rocky hill from the site itself. Restrooms and water are also uphill, not super close but nice not to have the foot traffic and noise/lights. We got some nice afternoon shade.
A short walk back from the site is a hill that drops down to Fern Lake road and looks down into the valley for some nice views. We took the short trail down from nearby in C loop to the shuttle stop there which was convenient.

I love Moraine Park and have camped in various sites over the years. This site felt like an afterthought, tucked between multiple sites so people would walk right through our site to get to the bathroom that was right next door. Wouldn’t recommend this specific site.

Great place to camp! Even though it doesn't seem like it at first because most sites are closest to a pit toilet, there are nice bathrooms with flush toilets in a few spots if you're willing to go for a longer walk!

Lovely, clean campsite with early morning mule deer. Toilets were clean enough and price was right.

Great experience the wildlife literally come up to your site. I walked out a few times to deer and elk outside of my camper.

This spot is relatively private compared to most sites in this campground. It requires some hikes up a hill. The view of Longs is great. Downside is that this loop doesn't have flush toilets and a comfort station. Had to walk a long way to have dishes washed

A great spot! Across the street from a large meadow where we saw several herds of elk and mule deer. A130 + A 131 share a driveway so good for those camping together. Flushing toilets and potable water nearby. Not super private as other sites are within eyesight but that’s expected. We had a lovely time! Note to those with roof tops tents - the parking space is slanted but nothing a few rocks can’t help with to level out.

Stay Out of Hydroseeded Areas!Moraine Park Campground has recently been re-seeded after construction! This process, called hydroseeding, applies a combination of local native seed, mulch fiber, and water to disturbed areas, and looks similar to fine straw. Over the next couple of years, this seed will germinate and help restore the local native plant communities we know and love. Please protect these fragile areas by using designated paths and keeping kids and pets out of hydroseeded areas. |
