What Guests Are Saying
Moraine Park Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with stunning views of snow-capped mountains and abundant wildlife like deer and elk. Campers appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and convenient access to hiking trails. While some improvements could be made, such as better bathroom signage and more electrical sites, many visitors express a strong desire to return due to the campground's overall charm and serene ambiance.

Was glad that the campground finally reopened. Had a beautiful spot in d loop. A bit of a schlep to walk to. Not sure if when I reserved it mentioned that it was a walk to site. Would be helpful if it did. The addition of solar showers was a bonus. An 8# bag of ice was a bit on the ridiculous side but highly recommend the campground anyway.

Campsite was clean and ready for set up. Campground has lots of out houses and comfort stations with flush toilets that us ladies loved! Rangers were helpful and friendly. Plan to come back next year!

Nice campground. Two Bear Lake shuttle stops to choose from, making it convenient to get to Bear Lake without having to drive. Helpful check-in staff.

The volunteer park ranger helped us get a different campsite because there was standing water in campsite B 177.
Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay in the Moraine Campground. The rangers were knowledgeable and very nice. The views were spectacular and we even made new friends. We loved the convenience of the park transportation system. Overall, we would highly recommend it.

This is our favorite campground. We love the new electric sites and flush toilets. So glad you are back open. Great staff members.

Read my review for site 147. This site is a little more accessible because the curb is not quite as high. But the site has more pitch. Get out the bull dozer. This is an easy fix. Its a dirt pad. I do not recommend this site for a trailer or motorhome.

I do not recommend any site between 142 to 150. They are on a curved road with a 10 degree downhill grade and a very high curb at the edge of the campsite. Near impossible to back an RV into site 147 in reverse and then hitting the curb was a disaster. Extreme load on vehicle. I was in a 25 ft motorhome. Once on my site 147 for first 3 days, I did not want to move my RV for fear getting it back in. The other issue was trying to level. It was a 1 ft slope down hill rear to back. Not good. They spent $19 mill on the remodel. The views are great. The campsite is terrible. Good luck jack knifing a trailer in there. Picnic table too high. I am almost 6 ft and my feet did not touch the ground

It is a beautiful setting. The campsites are each uniquely different. Some had large campers parked right along the road. Our spot was a back-in site. Our one complaint was the 30 amp breaker was broken. We reported this on our first two days. It was never repaired during our week long visit, but we were refunded 2 nights.

Stay Out of Hydroseeded Areas!Moraine Park Campground has recently been re-seeded after construction! This process, called hydroseeding, applies a combination of local native seed, mulch fiber, and water to disturbed areas, and looks similar to fine straw. Over the next couple of years, this seed will germinate and help restore the local native plant communities we know and love. Please protect these fragile areas by using designated paths and keeping kids and pets out of hydroseeded areas. |
