So helpful to have a shuttle service to and from the trail heads. We were able to park our car and camper and just walk to the shuttle pick up without having to drive once in the campsite.

This large Campground was run very smoothly, with the rangers in the registration booth exhibiting skill and courtesy. The restrooms were adequate, although at least one comfort station and rest rooms was out of order. Some faucets were inoperable, and the rains had washed out several campsites. But, hey, when small groupsof deer and larger herds of elk wander through I just felt grateful. On clear nights, the stars were awesome. The Ranger programs were terrific, but there were only 3 per week in late-August when the campsite was full. The shuttle stop at the campgroud entrance was so convenient.

Easy In and Out...Beautiful Surroundings and the convenience to hiking trails around Bear Lake and Beyond is Excellent.

Wonderful trip! The facilities were clean, the sites were well maintained. We had a “walk-to” site, but the walk was very short and the site was private with lovely views.

All though trail ridge was scenic and highly recommended as a must do, it was very frightening. My anxiety was through the roof because there was minimal guard rails. I felt like my car was 5 inches from driving off the mountain with every turn 🤮. Plus the higher you get, your vision gets impaired by the darkness of the clouds, pouring rain, and complete blindness of oncoming traffic with their brights on. I also felt this way driving up to Bear Lake.
Side note: if you have small children or just children in general who like to bicker in the car, I would make sure it’s their nap time so you won’t get distracted from driving. From one parent to another 😬

The pit toilets are in horrific shape. They need to be cleaned more often. As there are so few flush toilets, this should be a priority.

Very good camping site. Easy access. Good clean bathrooms. It would be better if families with children are concentrated on certain loops. Children are wonderful but very noisy. But people respected 10pm quiet rule. We saw a moose running in between the tents. Heavy storm in the afternoon but water was diverted away from tent pad.

Timed Entry Reservations: For visitors who are camping at Moraine Park Campground, your Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road Reservation is included with your camping reservation.Campers will be able to enter the park beginning at 1 p.m. on the first day of their camping reservation, which is also the check-in time for all RMNP campgrounds. Campers who plan to enter the park earlier in the day will have to enter the park outside of the times when timed entry is in effect (for example, before 9 a.m. for most areas of the park) or make a timed entry reservation. |

Entrance Fee. A park entrance fee is required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park, or show your annual or lifetime park pass. You may pay the entrance fee upon arrival.Pass Discounts on Camping. Check-in Time. Check-in is after 1 p.m.Check-Out Time: All campers must check out and vacate their campsites by 12 p.m. on their departure day.Hookups - A number of campsites have 20/30/50 amp electric hookups available. Moraine Park Campground does not have any sites with water or sewer hookups.Dump Station - An RV Dump Station is available near the ranger station. Solar Shower Stalls are available - This is a solar shower only. Users must provide their own shower bag for water. Water is not provided in the shower stalls. Laundry services are not available. |

Site Limits. Each site is limited to eight (8) persons and one camping unit (i.e., a tent, RV, or trailer/tow vehicle) plus one additional tent per site. All tents shall be located on the tent pad. All additional camp structures must be self standing without impacts to vegetation or trees. There is at least one parking space per site. Some sites may accommodate more than one vehicle. A vehicle is defined as one car/truck, one trailer, one RV, or one towed unit. Each vehicle must be parked on the gravel or paved parking pad causing no resource degradation or encroachment onto the main road. Extra vehicles must park in overflow areas.Maximum length of stay. The maximum length of stay during peak season is 7 nights. Please check the rules and regulations before making your reservation. |

Firewood. Firewood is available for purchase at Moraine Park Campground, and all other campgrounds in Rocky Mountain National Park.Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water. Dispose of unwanted bait, worms, fish parts, or other organisms into the trash and not into the environment. Stay Out of Hydroseeded Areas!Moraine Park Campground has recently been re-seeded after construction! This process, called hydroseeding, applies a combination of local native seed, mulch fiber, and water to disturbed areas, and looks similar to fine straw. Over the next couple of years, this seed will germinate and help restore the local native plant communities we know and love. Please protect these fragile areas by using designated paths and keeping kids and pets out of hydroseeded areas. |

Be Bear Aware when camping. Store all food and scented (soaps/lotions/toothpaste/lip balm – anything with a scent) items inside Food Storage Boxes provided at each campsite. RMNP has a zero tolerance policy for food storage violations. Do your part to help protect wildlife. |
