What Guests Are Saying
Rabbit Valley offers a well-maintained campground with clean facilities and stunning views, particularly from Knowles Overlook. The large, spaced-out campsites provide a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for off-roading and outdoor activities. However, access can be challenging due to a rough road, and the lack of shade and amenities may not suit everyone.

Rabbit valley is pretty awesome. We ride dirt bikes. Love all the trails out there. The new pay system is good. We ended up in the horse riding area without knowing. It was no biggie since there wasn’t anybody else out there at the time. The website did not specify that those campsites were made for horses. They had corrals and everything. The new roads in are nice and it is nice to know that you will have a site instead of driving all the way in to hope for a spot. I paid $28 to camp which is a little steep, but fun none the less. We rode the amazing West Rim trail and had a blast.

When I arrived, someone else had taken my campsite. It was clear they were not paying to camp. Fortunately, another site was empty so I stayed there.

The vault toilet is filled to capacity. My kids got really dirty playing on the cables that prevent people from driving into the camp site. Please empty the vault. And please please clean the grease off the cable before opening the camp sites

Expensive for no services provided, compared to other Federal campgrounds that don't provide services. $8/reservation fee to recreation.gov seems really steep too. Pretty area though, and convenient to Grand Junction.

This campground was the most well appointed campground for horses I have ever experienced. Easy access with a trailer. 20x20 corrals. Easy parking with picnic tables, tent site and clean bathrooms. Look forward to returning.

Nice site, especially now since the access road has been fixed. Fairly secluded. There is noticeable freeway noise when the wind is from the north, but it's not really too bothersome.
We've been camping in Rabbit Valley for more than 20 years, and until these most recent changes it's been mostly unregulated and free dispersed camping. I suppose it was inevitable that a fee structure would eventually be imposed, and now it has.
$28 for a site with nothing but a fire ring and a picnic table is a bit steep I'd say, but there it is.
Excellent TMobile cell signal.

Beautiful location and views- especially the sites near the river. We enjoyed hiking to the CO River.

Facilities were clean, although unpleasant in smell. The camp spot itself was well maintained.
