What Guests Are Saying
Rabbit Valley offers a well-maintained campground with clean facilities and stunning views, particularly from Knowles Overlook. The large, spaced-out campsites provide a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for off-roading and outdoor activities. However, access can be challenging due to a rough road, and the lack of shade and amenities may not suit everyone.

The sites at Knowles loop sites are wonderful. Nicely spread out and all have beautiful views.

Improved designated campsites. Partially improved access road (4+ miles). Still ran into folks there who were confused over the "reservations required" status because old web site is misleading/not up to date on status of Knowles camping (someone needs to update the old website to point to newer reservation system so folks know they must reserve via the "Rabbit Valley" campsite availability listings). Even though all the signage on the access road clearly states that reservations ARE required. Maybe post a QR code on the signposts as well so folks can get to the reservation system more easily. Cell service IS available in that location so folks can make reservations on the spot for available sites.

The campsite was a large open parking lot- style campsite. There was one fire ring and one picnic table. It is perfect for a big group and multiple trailers/ campers/ etc. You probably could have fit 5 huge RVs in there, maybe even pulling trailers. The toilet was a short bike ride away and very clean and well stocked. The site had great access to all sorts of trails. We had reserved the campsite and when we got there, there was an RV totally set up, including by the fire ring and picnic table. It turned out that the road to their campsite was washed out and the BLM office had told them to pick any site between 5-16. So we ended up sharing the campsite (turns out they were friends!). However, this was not what we had paid for, so that was a little frustrating, especially since it was a special birthday thing. If the BLM office can get their communication/ reservation system down, then this would be perfect! Luckily, the BLM refunded the payment of the campsite with little hassle, so they handled the situation really well.

As an avid dirt bike rider and outdoor enthusiast I truly love Rabbit Valley. The changes that CPW has made to the camping situation in Rabbit Valley were very much needed and has made the area much more the way it was 15 and 20 years ago. I've been camping and riding out here for many years and over the last 3-4 years things had gotten way out of control with people camping anywhere and everywhere in the area. I'm glad it's been reined in by the CPW. I love riding there and now I feel that we can keep doing that for many more years to come.
