Fair experience because the majority of the campsites are less than a 100 yards away from the main road, Trail Ridge Road/Hwy 34, so you could hear and see traffic all day and into the evening. The campsites are super tiny and crammed together as you can hear your neighbor talking or snoring. Bathrooms were also not clean or maintained even after telling the campsite host that the women’s bathroom was out of hand soap which was never refilled even after 24 hours. But it was a pretty area with easy access to the Colorado River to fish in multiple locations.

We had a lovely time visiting the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park. The Timber Creek Campground is quiet and the sites are fairly spacious. The river winding through the site provided many opportunities to see moose grazing in early June. The wild flowers were lovely on the short hikes we took. We also liked the nearby historic Grand Lake Lodge where we had a lovely dinner to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary.

The rain put a damper on things so planning is key. Take the altitude seriously and drink lots of water... We stayed at the Timber Creek Camp Ground, which was beautiful, but we were kept up for 4 hours in the middle of the night when what sounded like a mid to large size animal continuously nudged and walked around our tent. Lastly I think the bathrooms across the park could use some attention... Really interesting experience overall.

We had a great stay at Timber Creek Campground. Staff were very knowledgable. There are more bear boxes than on the online map (still need to share between 2-3 campsites). 3 toilets and 1 sink in the bathroom near our site. Soap provided in the bathroom. Saw elk and deer strolling through the campsite. Beautiful meadow along the Colorado River at the campsite. About 15-20 minutes to Grand Lake. Would stay here again.

Solid campsite with great scenery, in a valley. Sites were very close to each other though.

Could have used a shade tent but the river is right there and nice to wade in. got down to 37 by the wake up time. the ride from one entrance to the other was as beautiful as any road I have been on.

Wonderful campsite in the middle of nature. We had a wonderful time. After a great hike in the park, we sat around the fire in the evening and talked about the day! Highly recommended!

Me habría gustado quedarme allí para siempre. El lugar es relajante. Me despertaron los alces. El arroyo es delicioso. El fluir del agua, relajante. La atención: excelente. Volvería.
