What a wonderful spot to camp! The bear boxes were great, did not have to worry about the food being in the car. The stars were magnificent! Very affordable and I prefer to be away from the summer crowds, therefore the West side of the park was a must for me. Saw lots of wildlife, and was able to get some wonderful early morning hikes in all around the campsite. Thank you Rocky Mountain National Park & Timber Creek! We will be back! :)

This is a very nice campground on the less-busy side of RMNP. We had a beautiful and roomy site, but it barely fit our 26' trailer and tow vehicle. We saw plenty of wildlife including moose, elk, and birds. The campground hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. That this campground had a dump station and water refill, which was really convenient. The short walk to the river was nice and we saw a moose there. Stunning scenery all around! The one drawback was that the ampitheater was closed for renovations for our entire visit.

The campground will be more comfortable in a few years when the trees are tall enough to provide some shade. Water quality and temperature was excellent, as were the garbage/recycling facilities. This is a very good location for visiting the west side of the park, and the east side is not unreasonably distant.

What a beautiful campsite! Timber Creek Campground is located at the intersection of the Colorado River and Timber Creek. Consequently, there are great fly fishing opportunities. I caught many brook trout. I also saw a musk rat and a river otter. A mule dear doe wandered through camp. The west side of the park is definitely the way to go!

Timber Creek Campground has great views and ok sized sites. The restroom had running water, and was relatively clean.

Sites are small but knew that when making the reservation. First time in the RMNP. Awesome trails and sites!

Outstanding scenery and visits from elk daily! Bear box was large enough for sharing with adjoining campsite. Site was somewhat private with newer trees growing . Great location to beautiful trails and trail ridge road sites. Bathrooms were clean and had outside washing area for dishes . Campground was also close to Grand Lake enough that we drove in one night for dinner.

The firepits have now airflow into the bottom, which prevents the fire from kindling well, causes it to burn out quickly, and requires the use of more wood built up higher--which is a fire danger. This could be remedied by drilling a small hole into the side of the metal. This has been our experience in all national park campgrounds. Considering there were many sites in a small-ish geographic space, the campground maintained some privacy. There was quite a bit of noise that travelled to our site from the neighboring sites, but I imagine that will reduce as the foliage recovers more after the fire. I was surprised that nothing could be hung from the trees but understood the need to protect the new regrowth.
