Timber Creek Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park offers a beautiful, quiet setting with abundant wildlife, including elk and moose. The campground features clean facilities, friendly staff, and a good location for accessing trails and nearby Grand Lake. While some sites are close together and lack privacy, visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and overall camping experience in this less crowded area of the park.

This was our second time camping here, it is a beautiful campground near the Colorado river. Even though the trees are really starting to grow there is still limited shade. We had moose, elk, and deer walk right by our site. Our site said only room for one car but we were able to eventually squeeze two without issue from the rangers - we were told the nearby "overflow" parking was only for the ranger talks but we did have a car parked there a couple days with no problem (never saw too many other cars parked there). We fit a small and medium tent on the large tent pad with room to spare. There are a couple of dish washing station around, we had to walk to the B loop for the closest one. Bathrooms are dated and not super clean but they do the job, I wish there was more than one sink per bathroom. Firewood was $10 each, open a few hours each evening, and I believe they accept Venmo. They had ranger talks in the evening but we didn't make it to them. Shared food storage - our locker was never full, but nearby campsites were often unoccupied (and we left a lot of stuff in our car rather than walk across the road and down a hill). As always way too many empty sites at a "full" campground, even on a holiday weekend, but I guess all the more quiet for the rest of us.

Not enough bear boxes, and their no-scooter rule is a little discriminatory. My young children cannot ride a bike yet.. so why can’t they use their scooters when bikes are allowed??

We enjoyed our stay at Timber Creek Campground. The tent pads were flat and easy to nail stakes into. Though the campsites were close together, the bounty of pine trees helped the sites to feel more private.

Great location and easy check in! Our site only had small trees around, so not much shade no good for hammock camping. It was perfect for our tent though!

I had a reservation in the campground on the 26th thru 28th, yet they wouldn't let me in the park until after 1pm. My plan was to start around 9:30am and drive all the way to Estes Park then spend the night at my campground. Because they would let me in I only was able to drive to the Summit visitor center because it was getting late. So on the 27th rather than retrace my drive, I left the park early because I had to be in Grand junction on the 29th. When I made my reservation for camping through rec.gov, I should have been informed that I needed this extra timed entry pass. I had to waste a whole morning. Very disappointed. You should let campers in without the timed entry to enjoy the park.

Decent smaller campground. I enjoyed sitting by the river. Bear lockers are sparse, so plan on keeping food related items in your car. There is little shade and occasional rain storms making a canopy a must.
