This campsite is great! It’s very open which is great for views but can get VERY hot during the daytime. Bugs are very present here and although I’m not a bug person, long sleeves and bug spray did the trick for us. Super close access to the historic homestead, nearby lake town for restaurants if needed and our hike up Mt Ida was only a 15 minute drive at 5:00am so that was perfect.

Wrote a long review and somehow it disappeared. Imagine that. Needless to say... Timbercreek used to be a wonderful campground. Now.... Rules are only enforced when convenient... We suffered through a neighbor site with 12-14 noisy folks yammering at full volume. The max occupants is supposed to be eight. There was a camper who came in the campground after check is was closed and took an unused site. This left the fellow who had reserved the site scrambling to find a place to sleep. Nice job NPS.

Really cute campground with great views! Long but scenic drive to get there through the park from the Denver/Boulder area. Also, the campsites were sort of close together so you could see other people camping - not bad at all just something to note.

Clean, quiet campground. The only things that would make this experience better would be more bathrooms and access to showers.

Wildlife was plentiful. We had visits from moose and deer. Close proximity to Grand Lake and hiking trails. The sites are close together but well maintained. The bathrooms are outdated and no soap the entire time we stayed. We enjoyed our visit and will be back.

The campsite was very secluded and quiet, but a good size for our party of 5. Gorgeous views of the mountains on either side as well.

Great campground. Campground check in very helpful. Bathrooms a bit dated, but adequate. New growth trees allow for some privacy despite the high density of campsites.

Beautiful quiet location and will stay again on next visit. I was camped in my van and awakened early to view the sunrise. After cooking breakfast and cleaning up I looked out the windshield and saw 2 elk in the early dawn light staring at me as I viewed them. This exchange lasted for several minutes and they didn't seem in any hurry to move on. After they moved I started my vehicle and the two elk slowly walked me out of the campground. Truly an experience of a lifetime.
