What Guests Are Saying
Timber Creek Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park offers a beautiful, quiet setting with abundant wildlife, including elk and moose. The campground features clean facilities, friendly staff, and a good location for accessing trails and nearby Grand Lake. While some sites are close together and lack privacy, visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and overall camping experience in this less crowded area of the park.

I am a 40 year resident of Colorado and have visited the park many times. The winter of 2022-2023 was unusually wet. The park is amazing right now and I have never seen the rivers, streams and lakes look like this before. Everything is lush and green. My only complaint is that the park is understaffed and we received nothing but apologies from the rangers and volunteers. It is not their fault. The popularity of all the National Parks, since the beginning of the pandemic, has made the underfunding they have been suffering through have a magnifying glass on it. Kudos to everyone I interacted with. They made my camping experience marvelous. Thank you to everyone who protects and keeps our National Parks safe and teaches us.

Quiet. Trees are growing and taller than ever since they were cut down because of safety concerns during the pine beetle attack several years ago.

One of my favorite places to stay in the area. We usually go in the fall and love it. This time we went in early June(the first weekend the campground was open for the season) and it was interesting to see the difference in the environment. One thing to consider in early June is that the Trail road through the park still gets snow and may get shut down. We had a hike planned in bear lake corridor on the east side of the park and couldn't get to our timed entry in time when the road was shut down. There are plenty of other hikes, so we still had plenty to do. You just need to be flexible and aware of the weather.
