Very nice park. Only reason for 4 stars not 5 is sites only have electricity.

Stayed in Loop D with electric. Great large sites with level pad for trailer.

Beautiful campsite, clean facilities, well maintained.
Only problem is the bathroom lights are EXTREMELY bright and are on all night. We were over 100 yards from the bathroom and the lights were bright enough to cast shadows at our campsite. It impacted viewing the stars.

First time here and our family of 5 loved it! Some added bonuses to the natural beauty and fun were having hosts that were very friendly and helpful, and having some cool Ranger learning times in the amphitheater.

Campsite very clean, nice setup, beautiful views, nightly educational fun shows at the amphitheater. Close to nearby towns and monuments. Easy access to water activities. Will be back!!!!!

Summer temperatures so much nicer than the heat in Phoenix.

The restroom was quite clean and had some recent remodeling, and lights, toilets (flush type) and sink worked. The amphitheater had nightly talks by park personnel about the region, though our night was cancelled due to sickness, but very cool. Camp hosts were diligent about updating signs at each site so you could tell what was reserved and what was open.
Nearby boat launch and Bay of Chickens beach area (day use). The restaurant at the boat launch was closed for the season. Very little shade in the actual campsites.

We loved this campground. Only minutes away on foot from swimming or other water activities. We chose Elkwood Campground to be near Black Canyon of the Gunnison which we visited on our departure day. Due to ongoing road work it took us almost 1 hour to get there.
