Aspen campground is praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites, cleanliness, and proximity to the Colorado Trail and Jefferson Lake, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Campers appreciate the spaciousness and privacy of the sites, as well as the friendly hosts. However, some guests noted issues with restroom cleanliness and a lack of bear boxes, along with occasional disturbances from neighbors. Overall, it is considered a lovely spot for camping with great amenities and access to nature.

Campground and bathrooms were clean and camp hosts were fantastic! Site 10 is on the outer loop, right by the bathrooms, and doesn't have a lot of shade during the day but was still a beautiful spot. We saw a moose on the way up to the lake! No cell service for Verizon.

Beautiful area. Very clean campground though sites vary significantly relative to tree coverage and shelter.

This is our favorite campground to go to. We go to see wildlife and fish at Jefferson Lake. This trip did not fail me. The camp host Misty & Ken and the entire staff are super nice and very accommodating. It’s super clean! We will be back up there sooner than later.

The camp host was outstanding. Helpful, courteous, and kept the campsites and toilets extremely clean. Saw 8 moose in the Jefferson Recreation area over 3 days. Had fun with inflatable pontoon boats on the lake, but fishing was spotty to poor. Either CPW is not stocking as much or perhaps just more extensively fished as more people are seeking outdoor activities. Overall good value for the fees charged, especially with the senior discount pass.

Using Recreation.gov was a breeze and we received helpful documents and reminders. The campsite was neat, clean and beautiful. Always a pleasure!

Such a gorgeous campsite and area. Very clean. We went to Jefferson Lake, which was a little crowded, but beautiful. Saw a giant male moose in the area. I would caution that the road there is very gravelly and bumpy; it shook our small RV so violently that we had to drive about five miles an hour for two miles or so, but we did feel it was worthwhile to be in such a lovely area. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful, and even helped drive some campers from up the road to their site when they got rained on.

Nice small campground with beautiful scenery, and clean facilities. We had moose come through the site which was very exciting. Only negative was our site (5) was very close to neighbors at site 4. Would go back!
