Site #8 was large and shady; the picnic table and fire pit were up a slight hill from the trailer. Due to rain, there were a lot of no shows which meant the bathroom were not heavily used; the dirt roads were passable; the camp host was nice. Make sure to visit Florissant Fossil Beds Visitor Center and there are many great hikes nearby.

This was a great little spot. The actual site #18 was a good spot with a couple of flat spots to set up our tents and enough parking to get 2 or 3 cars in. The firepit has a metal grate over the top which made it easy for cooking our food/boiling water. There's a lot of trees around for shade. There is only one vault toilet and one water pump for the whole campground. The toilet was a quick 1-minute walk from site #18 and was one of the cleanest, least-gross smelling vault toilets I've seen while camping before so that was great. There is also a dumpster next to it for disposing of your trash which was nice to not have to drag it back home with us. The water pump was by the entrance of the camp, so a little bit of a disadvantage if you're trying to fill a jug to bring back to your campsite. I'd recommend driving to it so you aren't carrying heavy buckets/jugs of water back to the campsite. There is a staff campsite by the entrance if you have any issues or need to buy firewood. The campground is close to a mercantile if you need to buy more ice or something that you forgot. It's also not that far of a drive to Eleven Mile which made for a great lake day. Although we camp to get away from city life, there is cell phone reception if you need it. I have Xfinity Mobile and had 4 bars.
I would definitely recommend this campground to friends and return in the future.

Left early due to loud, rude neighbors. Site is listed as a handicapped accessible spot, but had to dig a 12 inch hole for the left trailer wheel and had to prop up the right side by several inches, too difficult to get in an out of the trailer.
