The site at Jefferson Creek CG was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Jefferson Lake was also beautiful and a great place to fish.

Small (17 sites) and quiet campground. Just downhill from a lake with good fishing; lots of small stream fishing also.

Nice small campground, super clean! Just wish the gravel roads would be paved or graded to remove the majority of rocks.

Bathrooms were immaculate. Sites were very nice and not too close together.
However, the water situation was not good for us - folks in our 70's with bad shoulders. The water pump was hard to operate and unless you had a funnel, it was very challenging. Replace with Idaho pumps???

great campsite - access to creek out the back of the site, connections to multiple trails from the campground, which were fantastic. pit toilets were pristine, campground well maintained and operated. very quick access to Jefferson Lake.

Jefferson Creek is a lovely campground. It is very clean and well cared for. There is good spacing between sites and most have lots of trees.

Parking close to road but spacious campsite. Clean bathrooms. Kind host. Great location for fishing and adventuring with kids.

Outstanding camping experience! The place was beautiful with lots of wildlife. We saw a moose over at the Beaver Ponds Picnic area! The fishing and trails were so wonderful for my girls. The trail was perfect for the 2.5 year old, she did great on a short out and back. I didn’t expect a steep decline and creek at the base of campsite 16, but it wasn’t a problem, the kids were very good about staying away from the hill and playing in the wide open back field of the campsite - there was PLENTY of room for kicking a ball around and playing with other friends made at other sites nearby. We’ll definitely be back for more trails and fishing!

From US Highway 285 at Jefferson, Colorado, take County Road 35 north to County Road 37 and turn right. Pay the user fee at Jefferson Lake Recreation Area entrance station and continue on the road to the campground.

Alert for Reservation Holders: There is a one-time fee of $11.00 to enter Jefferson Lake Recreation Area in which your campground is located. You will only have to pay this fee once for the duration of your stay.

Please note it is difficult to access Jefferson Lake Recreation Area during the winter months; the roads to this site are not maintained for snow throughout the winter. County Road 37 is an unpaved gravel surface road that leads to the entrance of the area. |
