This was our first time staying at lodgepole and it was a very positive experience. It was quiet, the bathrooms were really clean and there is a water pump on site. We even saw a moose on the road head up to the campground! Jefferson lake is a couple miles away and so beautiful! Although the road is super bumpy, there are no big holes or anything, so any vehicle can make it up. The only downside is if you stay on the side of the campground parallel to the road it gets dusty from all the dirt being kicked up when people drive by. We left on a Sunday and the trash was overflowing so maybe plan on packing out your trash if you stay on a weekend. Overall a really great experience!

I camped in a different campsite in the Lodgepole Campground this year and really liked the "pull-through" site I had for my camping trailer. I personally like the access to the Colorado Trail that cuts right through the area. The family serving as the campground host this season is friendly, quick to cleanup campsites after they've been used and are keeping the toilets very clean. There even is a large container of hand sanitizer just outside the doors of the toilets. The only downside is that while the roads inside the Jefferson Lake Recreation Area are in good shape and well maintained, the Park County road leading up to the recreation area entrance is extremely rutted and in awful shape.

First time at this campground and making plans to go back next year. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful. Restrooms and grounds were very clean. Most sites spacious and shaded. Scenery great with a creek and marshes nearby which helped us see a family of moose. Short drive up to Jefferson Lake.

Terrific site alongside the Colorado Trail, close to marsh, river and beaver ponds. Beautiful hiking. Site was super clean and vault toilets were decent. Great camp host.
