What Guests Are Saying
Lakeview Campground offers stunning views, well-maintained sites, and a private, quiet atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. Many appreciated the clean facilities and helpful camp host, Rick, who enhances the experience. While some sites may be smaller than advertised and noise from nearby roads and dispersed campers can be an issue, the overall beauty and accessibility to trails and nearby lakes make it a worthwhile destination.

I have been in many National Forest campgrounds from 11 mile canyon to san Cristóbal here in Colorado. The camp hosts Dan and Brenda at Lakeview were the best I have ever encountered. They were more then helpful.

Wonderful scenery and friendly helpful staff. I got seriously lost and almost died of dehydration and the camp host saved me.

This was a beautifully forested campground with views of the Twin Lakes. Our campground host was friendly and helpful. I was able to take some hikes and climbs and take some outstanding photos.

Campground area view is beautiful, peaceful for the most part while enjoying the outdoors, but noisy generators need to be limited in time use. Sites were booked but I noticed other loops set up as 1st Come 1st Serve (FF). We managed to reserve 1 Wed night in loop A and then moved over to FF spot in loop H for 2 more nights. We have a 29' travel trailer and many sites are for smaller campers/tents in the FF loops. Started out good in FF spot, but 2nd day of camping the party across from us ran a noisy generator from noon until after 7pm, at least 7 hours. They started generator then men left to go fishing-kept generator going. The fumes wafting over across the road made it very unpleasant to sit outside too. We don't camp to sit inside our camper all day to block out the noise, however we did play games inside with family to get away from the noise and stink. We hike for 1-2 hours/day but we can't for 6-8 hours while neighbors run their noisy generators. They appeared to have NO consideration for other campers around them who want to enjoy the peaceful outdoors. Other family members in adj. campsite (with them) sat in their camper all day. Lack of considerations was sad & frustrating for us! Family went over when fishermen returned to ask them to please have some consideration to shut the generator off. The owner replied "It's not 10pm yet". Seriously, he would have run it until 10pm? Their party seemed clueless about others. We asked politely & eventually he shut gen. off 30 min later. What can camp site managers do about this? Guidelines should be established that generators be limited (esp. the cheaper, noisy generators) to run 1 to 2 hours MAX in consideration of OTHER CAMPERS. We noted some gen. operating down the road from us that were much quieter-less obnoxious. Limits must be set, please!? We left the next day as same campers running gen. for hours, and we can't enjoy a peaceful camping area. Please rectify this problem! Thank you

The campsite was ok, although this particular campground seems like it's better for RVers than tent campers. I was disappointed to find out that the neighboring campsite had taken over half the campsite we had reserved and used our tent platform to park their truck and generator for their trailer leaving us to have to pitch our tent in the parking space behind our car as that was the only flat spot that remained. The campground host was nowhere to be found (just a sign that said "off duty") so there was nothing that could be done unless we wanted to get into a confrontation with the neighbors. I'd give this campground one star but the vault toilets smelled better than any other vault toilets I have been in. Just wish my campsite reservation actually allowed me to reserve a campsite and not just a fraction of one.

Please note, that no view to the lake. Site was large, few trees nearby, great for hammock. Restrooms really close, very clean, no smell at the campsite.
