We didn't check water levels before we went and had to walk about a mile in to get to the lake. But the camping spot was as magical as I remembered it. Will visit again!

Campground is great, hosts are wonderful. Nice spot on the normally windward end of the lake. Be careful, it can be a tough paddle back to the campground on windy afternoons! Night sky is fantastic, and the day use parking lot makes for good stargazing.
Proximity to the day use area near the lake can make for noisy mornings, especially on holiday weekends. Lots of traffic looking for the day use area take the campground road, many speeding back out once the mistake is realized. No knocks on the campground or hosts, but unfortunately some folks can be inconsiderate and negatively impact a really nice spot on Turquoise Lake.

We went right at the end of the season, late September. I imagine that during the high season Turquoise Lake in general is pretty active and crowded, but in late Sept you have the lake trail (nice from either side) mostly to yourself. Nice sites in May Queen, most have shade. No cell phone service at this end of the lake in the campground, but fine at the other end.
Weather was great, though always in the 30's at night, no surprise given the 10,000 foot elevation.

I had a great experience a coupleweeks ago, so I came back! The site wasclean, and the ashes in the fire ring were cleaned out! Rest rooms were also clean. This looked like the only campground open around the lake, so it was busy, but Host Dan coordinated everything well. I even met some new people he introduced me to
Great time!
