A great place to camp. So many places to explore in the area. You are surrounded by beauty everywhere you look. We would definitely return.

Our site (66) was great, it was surrounded by mature trees that provided a little privacy, and it was close to the restrooms and water. The campground is beautiful. Some sites have breathtaking views of the lakes (not ours though). We had some amazing hikes. The surrounding area is amazing.

The site was clean, off the main trail and had everything we needed.
The site was within walking distance to the lake but did not feel crowded.

Awesome location. We loved the access to the water for kayaking. The sites were a little too close together for our liking but you can’t beat the area. We will absolutely be back!

noisy neighbors, but in part because they don't know the rules. Not enough staff, they can't communicate with everyone, and rules are not posted.
Dogs not on leashes, parties past midnight.

We were there in July and we had a great time and the weather was perfect. The campground was awesome.

Could use hand sanitizer in bathrooms. Otherwise great campgrounds!

I really like that most of the campsites are very large. The campground is very close to the Twin Lakes General Store, which is also a positive feature. We rode our bikes to the store on a couple of occasions. It's also very close to the lakes and there are some boat (kayak, canoe, paddle board) rental places nearby. The lake water is quite cold, but people do get in it. Most of the campsites are flat, but some are on a steep grade. Of course that happens when you camp in the mountains. There are a lot of great hiking trails nearby: the Colorado Trail, the Continental Divide Trail, the Mt. Elbert trail, the Interlaken Trail, to name a few.
Unfortunately there are no showers at this campground, and no where besides the latrines to dump your grey water. This year there was also no running water from the drinking water pumps, which was quite disconcerting. We were given notice about this on the website, so we brought about 15 gallons of our own water, but I was worried we would run out since we there for a week. However, drinking water was brought into the campground via several 300 gallon tanks, so we were able to replenished at the campground when we ran out.
Not all of the campsites have a view of the lakes, as the reservation site might suggest. None of the campsites in Valley Loop have a view of the lakes. Some of the campsites on Ridge Loop have a view, and many of the campsites on Sage Loop have a view.
The views of the mountains and lakes are amazing. The amount of stars to see at night is also quite awe inspiring.

Too many people in one campsite...too many dogs barking......it is a pandemic but people at lake were on top of each other. And this is a somewhat remote spot,

Had a great stay! LOVE the area and the campsite is very clean. The lake was a short walk or drive. Our site was a little hot as we did not have any shade. Overall a great experience! Twin Lakes is great, Mt. Elbert is the backdrop and a short 30 min drive to Independence Pass which is stunning. I would definitely stay here again...
