We part of a larger group from our Church, and though we were spread out over most of the camp ground we were still able to meet together as a body for the evening meal as is our camping custom. we were pleasantly surprised to find that unlike what your web site led us to believe, there was a relatively healthy stand of trees in most of the campground.
I would personally like to thank your campground host and her husband for trying to help one of our group with the water heater issue she had in her RV. She is older and has some physical issues but has an adventurous spirit. She greatly appreciated the effort put forth.

The sites are large and spaced apart. The facilities are the cleanest I’ve ever seen. The scenery was lovely especially since there were still lots of wildflowers in bloom. It’s a very quiet location aside from a bit of highway noise. Fun to learn about the Camp Hale history too. We had a great time and will likely return.

Site 2 is very deep and is mostly level. This campground is an easy drive from Copper Mountain and is located near Leadville and Turquoise Lake RA. Also, a drive to Vail over Battle Mountain is very scenic.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |

Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
