The site was level. The bathrooms were clean. Ranger talks at night were fun and informative. Dogs on a leash were allowed on more trails than in other National Parks we have been to.

We had a great time at Black Canyon. We spent most of our time on our friends’ site because ours was pretty steep. My biggest complaint is the description of our campsite says the site is both 30 amp electric and not electric. There was no electricity on the site.

Great experience. It was a pleasure to see reserved campsites actually being used!

We loved the experience of seeing the Black canyons. However our parking site was poorly maintained. Shrubs had overgrown part of the site where we had to park. Our airstream trailer was scratched and our truck because of this. The fire pit was full and trash in camping area. Gravel on the site has washed down into the site sitting area and made the parking area even more difficult to level our rig. We felt like there were very few trails for older people and people with disabilities. Therefore there was not much to see from the road for us. All and all we would not return given our experience or recommend it to seniors or disabled people.

We had a wonderful time at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. The campsite was clean, shaded and the road and parking area in front of our site were well maintained and safe. The area was quiet and the bathrooms (pit toilets) were kept well stocked and clean. This park is a true National Treasure and we hope to come back to it many times over the next few years. Highly recommend this and also want to mention before closing that the Ranger talks were among the best we've ever experienced!

Great park! It was a surprise how much we liked it. The scenic drive was gorgeous. I just wish we'd had more time there!

The campground is very nice and we enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint is the site was right on the road and very narrow. We could not use the fold out bed on the left side if our camper. If that was in the description when I made the reservation I missed it!

Site A007 is a great one for tent camping. It's a large site surrounded by scrub oak that provides partial shade all day and really helps provide some protection from gusty winds. Lots of birds in the campground and a deer that wandered through the sites. Pit toilets were kept supplied and clean. Note that the parking space is only large enough for one truck or car.

We enjoyed the evening ranger talks in the amphitheater, and considering that there are only vault toilets, they were fairly clean. Appreciate the effort it takes to truck in drinking water, but doing dishes (or washing hands and brushing teeth) gets a bit tricky.

So nice to be in the park to enjoy all parts of our day. Electric hookups and pit toilets and views that are never ending. Big horn sheep in the sun. Great hikes. Biked part of the rim. I’ll be back to do more.
