Black Canyon is gorgeous. That said, the South Rim campground was pretty crowded. Neighbors were playing loud music - is that a thing? Found peace and quite at the North Rim, though. (Campground was sparsely populated.) Took Pinon Route into the canyon. It was well worth the effort. Just beautiful.

The campground spaces are situated as to be nicely separated and secluded. The restrooms are basic - pit toilet with hand sanitizer, but access from campsites is difficult without traveling through others’ sites. Potable water was available and appreciated for filling drinking bottles.

This was a great campground that was nice and quiet. At night, after the moon went down, you could see billions of stars. The water is at the front of each loop, and the pit toilets were clean and didn't smell. Unfortunately due to budget cuts, they were not able to have Ranger programs at night. They have bear storage containers that are easy to use. We got up early to complete the hikes because in the afternoon it would be hot.

Great location but the campsites are too close to one another (there should be fewer sites per loop) and there are not enough pit toilets.

Love The Black Canyon!!!
I wish we could have shower houses in this park.
( I realize water is an issue at The Black Canyon - I can still wish for it!!!)

Black Canyon blew us away! Make sure you have enough time to see all of the overlooks and do some hiking. The biodiversity here was super interesting, in addition to all the geological features. We loved Dragon Point especially.

The overall campground is lovely and the canyon itself is amazing. Facilities were clean and the spaces were well managed (trash, water, signage). This specific campsite is functional but also quite small. The tent area is surrounded by trees and brush on three sides — this is great when the wind kicks up, but it’s otherwise challenging to get a moderately sized tent set up. Also, note that the fire pit is immediately next to the tent space, so keep that in mind in terms of smoke and such. Loop C is nice in general, but we’d look for a different campsite if we were staying again. Lastly, note that cell coverage is pretty terrible throughout the park, but the public Wi-Fi at the visitors center was fantastic and fast.

Campground is pretty bare bones. Most sites are small, some are close to the road and some are set back a bit into the trees. This site had a small bit of shade at the back of the site but was otherwise mostly in the sun.

We enjoyed staying in the campground. The sites were clean and in great condition. There were lots of trees to make it feel private and we had plenty of room for our camper. We'd recommend for anyone that wants to experience of the Black Canyon, to say nothing of the night sky.
