The Nat'l Parks are still on a reduced personnel program. Black Canyon was better than our previous trips to Great Sand Dunes and death Valley. However, access to the knowledge and directions of the park personnel are key to a successful park visit. The facilities at the campground are very good: electricity is such a bonus; water availability is restricted; pit toilets were clean and supplied. It would be nice to have access to the canyon rim from the campground. This would greatly reduce car trips.

We've been to Rocky mountain for years because it's ours and it's close. And the sand dunes long time ago and Mesa Verde I've been saving this one I don't know why because it is amazing we were lucky to spend 4 days there got to see several sunsets to sunrises glorious Colorado midday skies this place is incredibly beautiful. And for those people who were complaining that there's no place to eat in the park come on drive 20 miles down to Montrose the campsites were indeed close together but it was very cozy in those gamble scrub oaks and we met quite a few nice people up there highly recommend this is a hidden gem it is a long drive from fort Collins but it was worth it next time we'd like to raft out the Gunnison where it's a little less steep on the outflow to Delta. Amazing place we're lucky here in Colorado

It was so nice to have close proximity to the national park's main developed area, and maybe even nicer to have electricity at the campsite for a relatively low price. I like that my site had a fairly private wooded area around the picnic table and fire pit. I liked to have a pull-through site but did not like that, given the one-way road, my trailer door was on the "wrong side."
The park was quiet the first night but had some kind of noisy campers on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. It wasn't a tragedy since I had a good source of white noise. I can imagine that on a typical weekend the place is very peaceful.
There is easy access to some of the park's trails from one of the campground loops. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to fully utilize them.
I will return if I am back at Black Canyon, which itself is an amazing thing.

Camping in Black Canyon was perfect for a long Memorial Day Weekend. The rangers were around often doing work in the campgrounds as well as answering questions of campers. They were knowledgeable and I much appreciate them. Bathrooms were clean and were well stocked and the campgrounds were clean and well maintained too. Would definitely recommend camping here!

The campgrounds and park are great. Be aware you can’t fill your rv fresh water tank here. Which important since there aren’t showers. The campgrounds have a couple great trails close by that lead to the visitors center. Absolutely gorgeous!
