The very helpful camp host did help us get the RV situated so that the door was facing the campground and not into the trees next to the road. We, naturally, would have preferred a camp site in the B-Loop so that we could have electricity, but all those spots were already reserved. The restrooms were basically clean, but well used. The Black Canyon and the overlooks were magnificent, awesome. The Uplands hike and the Warner's hike were good. The Visitors' Center parking lot was always crowded and the store only allowed 6 people at a time into a small section of the actual Center. The shirt I purchased, lady's large, was not a large and was even tight on my daughter who usually wears ladies medium. But we did so enjoy our stay. The dedicated hikers in our group would have enjoyed at least one more moderate-difficult trail.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The ranger was really informative and friendly and the camping sites are spacious and private.

Stayed 4 days and 3 nights at the B campground.
Space is tight, would not recommend anything more than a 15-20 ft trailer or a conversion van.
Had fresh water each day, bathrooms were maintained very well, and the host and Rangers provided the best of help throughout our stay.
Canyon is incredible, do yourself a favor, go see it!

Most of the sites are small, but OK for smaller RVs. Somewhat close together, but good screening with the oaks, for the most part. Very poor cell reception, people often made friends with the one or two sites with any service at all!

Many of the spaces in the campground are very tight and vehicles have to be parked on the road. From about 4 until 7 there was a steady stream of cars without reservations traveling through Loops A and B looking for spaces. Loop C isn’t very well publicized but it is first come first served and there were empty spaces but it appeared that people were leaving when there was nothing in A or B. The bathrooms were not as clean as other parks we have visited. The campground was fairly quiet though and there was a beautiful sunset.
If you are traveling westbound from Denver be aware that 50 is closed intermittently during the day and plan your travel accordingly. The day we traveled 70 west was also closed due to a mudslide. CoDot was very helpful but there was not much they could suggest to make westbound travel easier.
All that said, the canyon is beautiful and the rim drive is fantastic. It was well worth the trip.

I visited 11 National Parks in June and this was one of my favorite experiences. It was beautiful, and very peaceful. Deer and bunnies wandered through our campsite and the cicadas were a welcome surprise with their clicking sounds. The camp supervisors were very welcoming as well.

It is a primitive campsite so bringing water from home was helpful. The vault toilets have hand sanitizer but no other washing station.
Beware the cheeky chipmunks are little food thieves.
Make time for the Ranger talks at the Amphitheater. They are wonderful and informative.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison is beautiful!

My drive to the South Rim was very nice, especially with the storm clouds brewing. The woman at the entrance booth was so friendly and enthusiastic! (You don't find that too often anymore.) When we got to our campsite, we had to wait in the car about an hour due to the downpour, but I WILL NOT complain about rain when we are desperate for it!! I wrote postcards instead. The sites are so nice and spaced out perfectly. I walked the loop a few times that evening and it was nice to see so many people outside enjoying themselves! I wasn't able to hike any trails since I had my dog with me because of the restrictions (which I totally understand), so early in the morning, I made quick stops at the lookout areas to take in the awesome views! A wonderful overnight adventure!

Our site was very close to the other, sharing a driveway (which their RV took up the majority of the space) but besides that, the campground was very clean and in a beautiful location.
