We were hoping to camp (somewhat) close to Telluride, this was a great spot. 20 minutes from downtown and 10 minutes from mountain village. We were able to reserve a campsite for one night (spot 21, it's awesome - set up a little higher on the outside of the loop, backing up to the mountain behind) and then got a first-come-first-serve spot (spot 8 - such a beautiful, tucked away site next to the river, although you can hear the busy road) the next few nights. Camp Host was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Campsite was a bit small but backed up to forest, which was nice. Showers are free. Be aware that if you share campsite with another family, both families will be charged full price. This was not posted on the website and the bathroom bulletin board suggested that second family should be charged 50% if they have only vehicle and tent. Conflicting info. But FYI. Otherwise it is a decent campground near trout lake and very near galloping goose trailhead for hiking/mountain biking.

We love this campground. It’s one of our favorites. We were sad to be there for almost a week and never met the host. We finally met the area supervisor (at the entrance) to ask about where we can find a dump station. His response was “Telluride”. No specifics. We had to push for details and felt we were imposing on his time. We have always had a great experience and we were so disappointed in the staff this time around. The campground is still a favorite, but if you are heading there soon, don’t expect to much help if you need it.

The views are great. The sites are separated well. Very clean. Mountain Village is near by. A great place to visit. It has a gondola you can ride for free to. Telluride.

Our stay was excellent. Easy to navigate campground, although finding the entrance at night was difficult. If you use GPS, it will tell you to turn on the road adjacent to the campground. That road is narrow and dirt... difficult to turn around in at night when you don’t know the surroundings! Otherwise, everything else was great. The camp host was friendly and could be found cleaning the common areas every morning. You’ll enjoy your stay too, I’m sure!

Bathrooms were clean. Four campsites around us were very loud, with loud music and talking to 1:30am. Thankfully it started raining and they went into their tents and campers.
