Mike and Lilly are the best hosts of any of the many campgrounds we have visited over the year. They are friendly and the bathrooms are so clean every time. We love to visit with them in our shady and large campsite. Luke is new this year and has proven to be also one of the best.

It was early season and the water was not turned on. We thought that might be the case so we came prepared. It would be helpful for campers with reservations to be notified of the water situation. There few alternatives available locally.

Definitely one of the best camping spots I’ve ever stayed. Super nice camp host, ridiculously clean bathrooms, and in an amazing and scenic area with trails super close to a beautiful view (Priest Lake). I’ll be a frequent camper here!

Loved this campground and campsite! This is a small, quiet campground with well-spaced sites. The tent pad for site 11 is tucked fully back in the aspens, so it felt very private even though it was closer to the pit toilets than I'd normally choose.

Matterhorn is a well-managed campground, an easy drive from Telluride. We stayed 3 nights mid Sept 2023 just as the snow had started to fall at 13.000 ft elevation. Our site was spacious and could accommodate well our 19’AS – it offered 30Amp, water and sewer hookup.
Our favorite hike – Hope Lake – an easy 6 miles out and back with 1500 ft elevation game.

Anna the host is great to deal with and help us to adjust at arrival

We will be back.

This is a beautiful campground with the sound of water everywhere. There are two hosts and they just hustle and they are super vigilant in keeping people who don't follow the golden rule in line. They are extremely patient, even more so considering that people in this stretch of the highway seem to think they are an information booth for priest lake and lizard head rather than doing their research before they head out. They were very nice to my dog Mason!
