Our campsite was nestled in an aspen forest. We opted for a site without full hook ups, therefore, the space we had was quite private. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient to Telluride, while being away from the touristy feel of town. There is a beautiful lake 1 mi away for paddle boarding. We had several choices for jeep trips and mountain biking very close. I highly recommend this campground!

The excellent host, "Fish", was VERY helpful with our mixed up reservation. He was also a pleasure to talk with...especially, about Antartica. He, along with the other hosts really made our stay at Matterhorn!

very pretty location. The free tram to Telluride is a 15 minute drive includes free parking. would be nice to have more full hook up sites on property to reserve.

Our experience at Matterhorn campground was superb! The location is gorgeous. Camp hosts were friendly and extremely helpful. Facilities and camp sites were well maintained. Restrooms were dated but very clean. Nearby hiking options were excellent.

Getting There
From Telluride, travel approximately 7 mi south on Highway 145. Watch for campground signs; the turn off from the road is on the left.

General
- Standard Single Family sites: Recreation Use Fee allows ONE camping unit ONLY.
- campers are not considered a "no-show" until 24 hours after arrival date check in time. Our policy is that your site will not be released before that.
- Extra Vehicles: Cannot be paid for in advance - upon arrival coordinate with the host for payment and where to park.
- FIRST COME FIRST SERVE sites must be booked in person. DO NOT call to determine availability, as they are only available on-site.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
