What Guests Are Saying

Camp Dick is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and beautiful, well-spaced campsites. Visitors enjoyed the excellent hiking and fishing opportunities, with sightings of wildlife like moose enhancing the experience. However, some noted issues with rough access roads, noise from ATVs, and inconsistent water availability, which could detract from the overall enjoyment.

We enjoyed our 3 nights tent camping here. Our site was right by the river which made for wonderful white noise at night. We didn’t see any large wildlife, but it rained quite a bit, so we weren’t out and about as much as we would’ve liked. Our site had no shade, and we didn’t bring any shade of our own, so I was glad it wasn’t too sunny. There was some firewood available for purchase, bathrooms were clean for the most part, water was available next to the bathrooms, very large bear boxes at each site for food, and there are some very nice hiking trails nearby. Very happy to have snagged a spot here.

The campground is in excellent condition. But $9 for a small bundle of green firewood is ridiculous. I’ll be bringing my own next time.

As usual Camp Dick is a beautiful place to camp. It was unfortunate that people did not show up for their reservations and didn’t cancle them so others could enjoy this experience. I would like to thank Will, our camp host, who was extremely friendly and helpful to our Camping Singles group. He even came to tell us where the moose was so those who hadn’t seen one enjoyed that beautiful experience.

We were kind of disappointed that neither host came to greet us or talk to us at our site, which they normally do. Also, the sites were not raked for debris clean up, as usual. And the firepits needed cleaned out after each guest. The ATV's across the way at the next site were somewhat distracting and noisy. We were under the impression that the ATV's were not allowed to be ridden in the campground, only on the trails designed for them. Seeing 2 moose in the camp was a bonus, but what has happened to all the chipmunks? We did have a good camping experience overall. The only time we saw the host was when he went to clean the bathrooms in his golf cart. And a big patch of pavement needs to be replaced that has broke from the rain and is falling away.

Such a great place to camp, close to great bike trails, the river and great hiking. There is also very close access to a 4 wheeler trail, so you will see some 4 wheelers cruise through camp some days. But they were respectful and kept the speeds down in camp.
