What Guests Are Saying
Camp Dick is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and beautiful, well-spaced campsites. Visitors enjoyed the excellent hiking and fishing opportunities, with sightings of wildlife like moose enhancing the experience. However, some noted issues with rough access roads, noise from ATVs, and inconsistent water availability, which could detract from the overall enjoyment.

Pit toilets were spectacularly clean and even deodorized! Location is beautiful with quick accessibility to trails. Bear cabinets serve as great storage areas for tent campers. Not having electricity to recharge phones and navigation devices is a greater drawback than having to bring in water.
Complaint: The huge trailers that run their generators are a terrible noise and even visual disturbance.

Peaceful setting next to babbling brook. NO cell service with AT&T if that matters to you when camping.

We arrived after dark due to attending a wedding in Lyons, CO. Our site was occupied. My name was clearly posted for the date, since we booked a month before. Fortunately, the next site was open. The next morning, we visited the camp host, wondering if the reservation system is reliable or if we needed to confirm, etc. They assured us they would not have given the site away. The person occupying our site said the host gave it to him. That person had multiple stories about why he thought the site was open. It could have been a big problem if the next site had not been available, as Camp Dick is remote. Makes us leary of relying on Recreation.gov.
