What Guests Are Saying

Camp Dick is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and beautiful, well-spaced campsites. Visitors enjoyed the excellent hiking and fishing opportunities, with sightings of wildlife like moose enhancing the experience. However, some noted issues with rough access roads, noise from ATVs, and inconsistent water availability, which could detract from the overall enjoyment.

Camp Dick is quiet, immaculately maintained, and a nice nearby get-away. The ATV traffic through the campground does spoil the natural environment. Why can't the ATV folks have access that does not go directly through the MIDDLE of a campground?

The online reservation program is poor. The web page does not show the FF sites. WHY? Other national park campgrounds DO show the FF campsites. I had to make a special trip to Camp Dick to learn about ALL the options.

Don is a masterful camp host. Don's commitment to a well-managed campground goes above and beyond. He has been willing to take on the responsibility for 41 campsites by himself! He deserves an appropriate bonus or wage increase.

AND, you Recreation.gov need to improve the online reservation/information system.

This campground was hard for us to find, but very glad we found it!! It doesn't have flush toilets or showers, or even running water - but it's a gem. We have a solar panel and are self contained, so we did fine. It's a beautiful setting with hiking trails nearby. There was a huge bull moose that walked by in the woods behind campsite 32. We enjoyed our 4 days at Camp Dick. I would recommend getting a site along the perimeter - and not in the center. There are no trees in the center and it gets pretty hot in the sun all day! There is also the Middle St. Vrain River that runs along side the campground.
