clean campsite. clean restrooms. low water, but I was able to get my kayak out and have a fabulous day. Saw a bald eagle nearby. Perfect weather. I hiked up to Montgomery Pass and the bowls one day as well. I am very familiar with this area. Ive visited here summer and winter for over 40 years. Great skiing and lots of wildlife.

We love Chambers Lake and looked forward to fishing it however no fault from Recreation.gov the lake was way down and it was very difficult to get in the water to float the lake so we fished elsewhere. Regarding the campground we found a maintenance lacking in particular the restrooms were dirty and the campsites were not very well-maintained. In spite of this we will be back next year hoping the maintenance is better and Chambers Lake is a beautiful place to camp and the fire had a little impact in the immediate area.

Beautiful scenery, quiet. Not crowded. Restrooms could have been a bit cleaner but overall amazing time.!

Quiet campground with nice views - shame to see the fire damage and low water levels, but an excellent stay regardless. My dog loved it too!

It is at beautiful location, and quite and neat. We walked on the beach of the lake and could not stop taking pictures. Just beautiful!

This campground is beautiful! The lake was really low, and it's right in the recent burn area, but the campground was still lovely. Each site has a bear locker, tent pad, fire ring. There are toilets and water pumps throughout the campground. I'm looking forward to coming back next year!

The campsite was great! Loved the huge bear-proof box for our food. It made a great kitchen.
This site is close to two bathrooms. Non-flushing toilets only. Plenty of TP. No showers. There is a water pump at each bathroom. Great for washing hands and getting water to douse the campfire.
We forgot our chairs but the huge picnic table was close enough to the fire pit and worked for campfire seating. The table also has wheelchair access. Chopped firewood was available for $7 at the campground next to the campground guide’s RV.
The morning sun peeks through the trees here and warms up the site around 9-10 am. At night, you can lie in the driveway and have a great view of part of the sky. We even saw the Milky Way! Lots of trees at this site. Great shade and great hammock trees!
The nearby boat ramp was a good place to put in for kayaking. We drove to it for ease of hauling our gear. The lake is super low this year. (Maybe 20 feet low.) Lots of muddy areas with no lake water near this camp site. Yet, there is still plenty of lake to play on in other parts.
Signs said there was a bear active in the area. We didn’t see signs of any bears. We did have 2+ foxes run right through our campsite just after all the light left the night sky.
If you need gas, exit the campground and turn left. You’ll find it in about 20 miles at Archer’s Poudre River Resort. The pump is somewhat hidden behind their sign. Their gas was 70 cents cheaper per gallon than the next place down the road. You can also turn right out of the campground and there is a gas station about 40 miles.
The burn area from the 2020 fire is huge. Cleanup efforts from the 2021 mudslide are still underway. There is so much mud, debris, trees, and boulders in and around the Poudre River east of this campsite. Check local fishing reports for updates. For now (2021) you’ll want to fish upstream from the campsite.
We’d stay at this site again!

So sad that the forest is dying in the surrounding area. Who knows how long untll it affects the campground. Luckily the fires did not occur around the lake. There are some road construction delays due to fires and flooding.
