The lake was drained, so it was weird. But the campsite was clean, great campground , beautiful forest coming back after the Cameron fire

There’s a stream where the lake once was, super fun for the littles to play and cross the stream. Interesting experience to stand where a lake was, but I’m happy it’ll be back some day.

We received notice that the lake was “low”, but in fact it was completely empty because they are draining it to work on the dam. Extremely disappointing to drive three hours, pack kayaks, pack the camper, take time off of work and go up with friends to find the lake completely gone. Better communication about what was going on would be nice.

Campground was excellent. It would have been helpful. If the message received about the low level of the lake was accurate. The lake is basically a pond.

Chambers lake is drained for repair on the dam. However, the camp sites are great. The bathrooms were clean, the bear boxes are large and clean, there were plenty of trees in each site to hang hammocks and have a touch of privacy. The running water is potable. The drained lake has creeks running through it and my kids thought that was amazing. The camp host was lovely. It was windy as heck and our site, 36, took the brunt of it sitting on the peninsula and slightly higher elevation. We would camp here again.

There was no water !! We were notified late and did not go . Tried to get a refund but have not seen it yet . We go to enjoy fishing there and the beauty of the area . Hope to return some day . Have also canceled our trip there in September. It’s always been a beautiful campground to stay at .

The south loop was pretty exposed and felt more primitive than the north loop. Need to drive or have a way to haul water gear like kayaks or paddle boards, a bit of a walk to carry it all. Overall a cool area but would recommend the north loop for views, access to the water and shade.

Even though the lake level was low, it is such a beautiful area. Great campsite and clean facilities.

There is NO lake. The burn scar in the area is so depressing to see. But the bathrooms are clean. Never saw the hosts though.
