Such a beautiful place! I come here once a year just to unwind next to the lake and bike to Mt Margaret.

Dowdy Lake is beautiful! Very family friendly. There is a wonderful 2-mile trail that goes around the entire lake that is used by both hikers and mountain bikers, along with several off-shoot trails for a more extended hike/ride. Fishing is good, although the shoreline is crowded on weekends due to day visitors. I would recommend camping on a weekday to avoid the crowds. The RV sites are clean and distanced enough apart for some privacy. Most are shaded.

Site and campground was awesome! Camp hosts and maintenance folks were double awesome!! But there was no electricity. It just wouldn’t work. The guys worked hard to fix it the next morning but we had to move On by 11am. Went to a second site and that electrical box didn’t work either! Again the site, Campground, camp hosts, and maintenance folks were all wonderful-its just tough to go camping at a site 2 nights in a row - pay $40 each night - and not have electricity we expected, meal planned for, and paid a lot for!!! Please fund your campgrounds better! Train your folks to test electrical each day because you can’t charge that much for an electric site and not provide it. Now with fires close to the area-our $40 site cost $32 to cancel—-we get $8 back to cancel a reservation because they evacuated the area!! WTF?!? I wouldn’t ask for a refund at all if the money went to National Forest or Firefighting efforts, but it goes to campground management company that can’t even keep up maintenance on electrical boxes! Very disappointed!!! Now I just learned that I was charge $72 instead of $40 for second night of camping! Place is a scam!

Great for lake activities but too busy to fish during the day. Lots of dirt roads to walk and bike on as well.

There were so many mice that infiltrated our camper at night that we had to set up mouse traps and fill holes. We still got them all over in the camper.
