About Kenosha Pass Campground

We love Kenosha Pass Campground. The only complaint I would have was the almost constant gun shots on the Sunday we stayed.

We stayed at the campground at the tail end of the busy 4th of July holiday. The first night was packed but still quiet, clean, and lovely. Folks cleared out and our next night was so peaceful we could hear the bears having a dumpster party way at the other end of the campground. The caretakers had everything back in tiptop shape early the next morning. They were lovely folks and did a great job of keeping the whole area clean and folks happy.
It gets really cold at night. It's higher up than most and we felt it.
You can hear a bit of traffic from the highway as it's quite close to it.
The Colorado Trail is super popular so try to go on a weekday if you hope to see fewer people. Everyone we encountered was friendly and as excited to be out in nature as we were.
We will definitely camp here again. It is a perfect car camping spot with lots of trees, large spaces, and very well maintained.

There is more than camping here, hiking along railroad right of way and remnants of railroads of the past, hiking to scenic overlooks.
