Campsites are well spaced, there is a bear box at each site, the camp host is friendly, the vault toilets are kept marvelously clean.
However, there is no water at the campsite (as is mentioned in the campground description), so you need to bring your own water. There is a spring in nearby Allenspark right off of Hwy 7 where you can get water.
There's not much to do at Olive Ridge. Some children played on the large rocks in the campground. There is a 3 mile trail from the town of Allenspark into Wild Basin.
I camped here in order to have easy access to Wild Basin in Rocky Mountain National Park. With the Timed Entry System, you need a reservation to enter the park, or enter Wild Basin before 9 AM or after 3 PM. All of the parking (including spots along the entry road) at Wild Basin filled by 8 AM the day I was there (a Saturday).
The elevation is 8,350', but it seemed much warmer (hotter) than campsites within the park (Moraine Park is at 8,160') where I camped a week earlier, so hot I left Olive Ridge.

This is a quiet well managed campground with good amount of ponderosa trees throughout that provide good shade for most sites and break the wind as well. There is no cellphone coverage and you have to drive a good distance to get reception, It"s proximity to Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park is very convenient for hikers.

A quiet spot for some nice camping. We camped at the end of May, luckily no snow on the ground. There is a lot of hiking nearby!

Nice clean campground, water pipe broken so no water available at the campground. Otherwise a good location, about 15 miles from Estes Park. Very nice campground hosts
