What Guests Are Saying

Olive Ridge is a beautiful, well-maintained campground known for its clean facilities, friendly hosts, and spacious sites that offer plenty of privacy. Guests appreciate its proximity to hiking areas and the natural spring nearby. However, the lack of potable water and the occasional odor from the vault toilets are common drawbacks mentioned by visitors.

We couldn’t even stay past the first night. There were so many partiers and over crowded sites everywhere and no camp host to be found to put a stop to it. It went on till late. Half of the bathrooms were closed, we’re thinking they were closed because the camp host didn’t want to clean them all. And the camps ground was full. As pretty as it is we will never camp there again

This was a absoultly fantastic stay, Olive Ridge campground is an exelent choice if your looking for a quiter campgound that provides very well spaced sites and great access to nearbuy activites. Olive Ridge is just up the road from the Wild Basin part of Rocky Moutain National Park wich provides acess to some great picnic areas and hikes like Ouzel Falls and Finch Lake. It is also not far from the Longs Peak area of Rocky Moutain National Park.

Pros: Great spaced sites, indivual bear boxes, firepit & grill, picnic table, well spaced tent pads, firewood for sale, clean restroms, great tree canopy for shade, and essay acess to nearby businesses.
Cons: Water is not working at the time of this review, and picnic tables could use a new paint coat.

The campground was beautiful. Well maintained sites. Not all restrooms were available, but that wasn't a big deal. Have a long history of camp hosts being fantastic and kind. We always camp responsibly, and often dispersed, so never have issues. These hosts were abrasive and rude. I know everyone is feeling tense lately with workforce shortages and rising costs, so tried to smile and be pleasant despite being caught off guard by the attitude. Smiling and offering a nice response seemed to aggravate the female host further. Chalking it up to maybe a bad day? Otherwise loved the campground.

This is such a great campground, and our site was excellent too - there's plenty of shade under big established trees, and lots of space for kids to roam and explore, including boulders to climb and tree groves to wander through. The sites are really well spaced, so no-one was on top of each other, and the whole place was really well maintained. The tent pad for our site (29) was a little ways back from the parking spot; not enough that we needed the wagon, but something to bear in mind if there's anyone going with mobility issues. Only downside was the vault toilets, which were clean, but the smelliest we've encountered all camping season. We didn't have much wind the weekend we were there, which probably contributed to that, but I was glad we had our portable camp toilet for peeing. Wildlife-wise, there are a ton of very bold chipmunks, so you'll need to watch your food and keep a clean site. We also had a moose and her calf wander straight through the middle of the campground, so it's worth keeping an eye out that small kids don't stray too far. Overall great experience and we'll definitely be back.
