Campground was overall very quiet and the sites were well maintained. Conveniently located near RMNP and Estes Park. Bathrooms were pretty smelly and the flies were bad though.

This is a nice campground. When we visited there was no running water but we had been warned and had a full tank in our camping trailer before arriving. We booked a site which was plenty long for our trailer and truck but the roads in this campground are very Narrow and do not allow much room to maneuver into your site. We made it but I would not camp here again with our camping trailer. It is ok for smaller trailers and tents but not for anything over 25 ft. Other than that, it is a beautiful campground close to Rocky Mountain National park and Estes Park.

We visited in mid September so it was not busy at all and had most of loop to ourselves. Fire pits and grills were cleaned out and ready to use. Camp host/manager inspected each site almost as soon as people left to make sure it was ready for the next guests and even made sure the bear boxes were empty and clean so as not to attract unwanted guests in the middle of the night. Although there were a few generators running during the day there are more and more people using solar panels to charge batteries and even had curious campers stop by and ask questions about setting up solar and I was glad to help them out with information as it is easier than one may think these days with kits on Amazon. During the day you can hear the highway but it quiets down in the evening. With most of the the campgrounds closed in RMNP getting reservations is much harder so this was a nice alternative and I was able to explore a part of Colorado I had never seen. This is a primitive campground and you need to go into it knowing that and bring what you need. There is no water, electric, dump stations, hookups. The sites are all large and they do have a few pit toilets, dumpsters and each site has a fire ring and BBQ grill, tent pad and bear box and you can buy fire wood at the camp host. There are a few shops down the highway to get ice and a few other essentials. If you like it where you have to rely on yourself to bring what you need this is the place to go.

Clean camp. The particular site we reserved was a bit difficult to park our trailer due to the angle and the large rock and tree across the road. Took a bit but we finally maneuvered it. Not just anyone could do it but my hubby is an excellent driver.

There needs to be better directions on how you can take a reserved campsite if no one has reserved it since there is no phone service at the camp site to reserve it online.
