The camp site was in a perfect location. We had little kids so being close to the restroom was important. However, we didn’t want to be right across from them. Also our site was close to a trailhead to get to Brainard Lake.

Not what it used to be. They razed paradise and put up a parking lot. Dogs bark without consequence, kids play loudly without consequence, and several campers play music loudly enough to be heard several sites away. I hope the inconsiderate ones are COVID campers, and they'll go back to their previous activities soon, but for now, don't come to Pawnee expecting to bask in the quiet sounds of nature. Possibly for the above reasons, we saw much fewer birds this year than previously.

Site 32 which is marked as a Double/Group site for up to 15 people is inaccurate. There is only one tent pad site so if you want to have 15 people you need to have most people in RV or campers. There are clearly area that people have put tents directly next to this site, and we weren’t bothered till night 3 when the camp host first asked us to move a tent that was closer to an adjacent site. A few hours later two different camp hosts told us both tents off the site needed to be moved to the parking area or they would call the Sheriff to have us removed. Being several nights in and on our final night to request this was very unfortunate. Information about this site needs to be updated to accurately reflect usage so this doesn’t happen again. Thanks

Excellent campground, clean with great walk in sites. We parked at Long Lake Parking Area via reservation system, entering at 5-8 am time slot, and hiked to Lake Isabelle. Magnificent!
Then we headed to our walk in site about 3 pm. Tent site was meticulously clean, raked and flat. Restrooms were clean too.
We’ll be back.

The moose loop at Pawnee is very shady and campsites are nicely disbursed. We unfortunately experienced neighbors playing loud music and those with dogs that barked incessantly.

It had been over 10 years since I had camped at the Pawnee Campground. The bathrooms were really nice and clean. All of the campers around us were quiet and polite at night - that was a nice change from my previous experience. It was a great time! Thanks!

An amazingly beautiful place, walking distance to mesmerizing hikes and views. The site is very well kept; clean and fresh restrooms; the campsites well organized and clean. The host was very friendly and helpful. Can't say enough of good words about this place, very special. Will definitely return again!!
