I love Stillwater. It's one of my favorite places to camp and stay. For two years in a row, we've made reservations to camp during the full moon. The beauty of the moon rising over Lake Gramby has been spectacular. We love the fact that kayaking is very simple on the lake. You have access to nice showers. The sites are well-kept, and the camp hosts are very nice. I really enjoy this camground.

Bathrooms are really nice, spot was right next to the lake. The only downside was that there was no trees around for shade.

I had a reservation for two days (enjoyable), then hoped to find a FF spot for another two days. I identified a site on reservation.gov that was open for the days I wanted, so I was waiting for the camper who had the site to check out so that I could check in. A camp host named Lu Ann didn’t like where I was waiting and lied to me, saying the site was reserved. I moved as she asked, then later took the site after it was vacated. Later she hassled me again, but sure enough nobody came for the site. Despite her rudeness, I enjoyed everything else about my stay.

Exactly as pictured and described, with a front door lake view. Good sized, level tent pad. Be aware, this site has no shade, which is what is said in the description. That was not a problem, since we weren't there during the day. Convenient restroom with showers open 24/7. Very good Verizon cell service. Very easy access to RMNP. Would definitely stay here again.

Love this campground! It is very well managed and always clean! The only downside is that the sites are not very private but that’s not why you come here, it’s for the view!

Frankly, I would probably not give the large majority of these sites a second look as a tent camper. But, by reserving early, I got a great location literally on the shore of the lake that was awesome.
A nice touch: When you reserve a site, the staff has it marked with your name when you arrive...since the entrance station is pretty much unstaffed.
One downer while I was there was that one set of showers was closed, leaving only one for the entire campgrounds.
The facility's location is great as a jumping off point for the west side of the Indian Peaks (the long day hike to Crater Lake and back is one of the most memorable of my life)...plus of course the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. MAKE SURE you make reservations for a timed park-entrance pass as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Stillwater campground is a beautiful place. The B01, B02, B03... should be avoided for families with small children. The road in front of the campground is the primary access to the marina. Trucks with large boats drive fast along the campsites. It is unsafe for kids. Apart from that, the lake is gorgeous with a small beach. We hope to go back on the sites further away from the marina access.

We had a good time camping here. But some of the things that we didn't like are- The spaces are very small and we could hardly fit our car and trailer in the space for it. We didn't care for the grumpy camp host, even though they did keep the restrooms clean. There is no beach area accessible for us to play at. At the entrance of the campground is a PAY HERE kiosk, so we stopped and paid for 3 days as a "daily pass", but then later the next day, the camp host came and told us that we needed to pay for the 2nd car in our spot. We told them that we both had already paid for the daily pass for our cars. Both of us had. She then told us that we didn't need to pay that pass, that it was for boats (obviously not very clear) So that we frustrating that we had both paid for that daily pass that we didn't need to do. We didn't have a boat. So warning to all campers that the pass is if you have a boat only. not for your car.
