What Guests Are Saying

Stove Prairie offers a beautiful camping experience with great river access, clean sites, and friendly hosts. Many guests enjoyed the tranquil location and the opportunity to disconnect from cell service. However, some reviews noted issues with a rude camp host and inadequate restroom maintenance, which detracted from the overall experience.

The campground was clean. It was great being so close to the river - so quiet and peaceful.

Small and peaceful campsite. Many of the sites are steps away from the banks of the Poudre River. Sites are a bit small for tent camping but that shouldn't discourage you. One tent was great. Multiple tents may be harder. The sound of the rushing water was loud but soothing. The campground is close to the main road but the rushing water drowned out the sound of the occasional vehicle that passed by.

Very quiet and peaceful! Plenty of trees for hammocks and right next to the river so you can hear it while you sleep.

Loved this site! Great for families. Little rock bay setup along the river, which made a nice slow pool to play in. Great hike along a creek at Hewlett Gulch ten minutes drive away. Lots of shade from trees. We’ll come back next year!

Smaller area with fewer sites so more quiet, could hear the river very well. Very green when we were there, but was wet spring. Campground outside of burned area upstream. River moving very high and fast at this time. Was not good fishing spot at this time with high river flooding over shore plants restricting access. Would be better access with a lesser flow later in year. Road not very far from sites but little traffic after evening. Clean and well attended site.

We had a fabulous time! The host did a great job of checking and cleaning on the bathrooms. It’s one of our favorite spots to camp

Nice sites. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen for a vault toilet bathroom. My only complaint is there's no place to really walk around and take a short hike.

The site was clean and cleared. The river was very near and provided beautiful background noise at night with a fun spot for the kids to safely splash around. There was a lot of poison ivy by the river and a little at our camp site which is the reason for the four stars. Had our neighbors not warned me, I would have sent the kids out to play while I set up and can easily imagine it being a lesson learned the uncomfortable way.

Beautiful &quiet scene right along the Cache le Poudre! The drive itself was breathtaking and the camping neighbors were also friendly, just be able to navigate without phone service. Fantastic area to exemplify Colorado scenery!
