West Chicago Creek campground is a quiet and well-maintained site with clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and beautiful surroundings, including easy access to hiking trails and a lovely creek. While there is no water on-site, it is conveniently located near Idaho Springs for supplies. Some sites are closer together and may require careful arrangement, but overall, visitors enjoy the peaceful experience and scenic atmosphere.

Very clean campsite. I enjoyed the long 3 mile drive into the campsite. We saw some moose along the way and a deer and baby fawn. Secluded and quiet. Has a nice creek nearby as well as hiking trails. We visited Mt evans after our camping adventures. Short drive up the mountain from the campsite.

The good: the campground was quiet and peaceful, there's actually a site #1 but it doesn't look like you can reserve it online so we had our part of the campsite all to ourselves. Our site was perfectly level for our RV. The bathrooms were very clean. Nice hike to Hell's Hole, 9.5 miles, lots of shade, rocky in many areas.
The bad: The first 2 miles up to the campground were fine, the road was wide enough for our RV (26') to pass oncoming vehicles. It would have been tight if we'd met another RV but there were several pullouts. The last mile was more narrow and bumpy. Very doable in an RV, but had we met an oncoming RV there would not have been enough room to pass each other. Someone would have had to back up to one of the 2 switchbacks. On our departure day we packed up and left at 10 am to be sure we wouldn't meet another RV on their way to the camp.
