What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

When I made reservations for site 83 at Pinion Flats campground the discription was a pull thru which could handle a 27 foot trailer. My understanding of a pull thru is like a driveway or road away from the main road. When I got to the camp site I found a wide section of the road which I had extreme difficutly parking my trailer. The discription of the site needs to be correctly discribed.

The campground had everything we needed. Our site had a lovely view of the dunes. We visited Zapata Falls which is nearby and highly recommended. Camping in a National Park campground is always a win!

Such a peaceful and beautiful campground. We had site 86 and loved it. The smell of the campfires and the abundance of stars to gaze at was quite amazing.

Amazing campsite and wildlife! This park has one of my absolute favorite Natl Park Visitor's Centers. The Joyful Journey Spa is an hour from this campsite that we hit on our drive back, and the hot springs there are cheap and beautiful!!!

Try to get a campsite with some shade! The one we got this time looked like it had good coverage, but it really didn't. The sun can be quite brutal out there! Make sure you bring sunscreen and bug spray to make your trip excellent. Also note that if you plan to visit Zapata falls, you will need to traverse through the river. Water shoes are a must and hiking poles are quite helpful.

Absolutely beautiful and right against the sand dunes, gorgeous dark sky, campsite is pristine (clean toilets, water). The downside was that there were partiers right near us that were bumping music out of a portable speaker until 10pm. Disrespectful with so many families camping around them. It's surprising that quiet hours didn't start until 10pm and that the camp managers allowed them to have such a loud speaker playing music (I don't think portable speakers are permitted).
