What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

The piñon trees are amazing on loop 2 and provide lots of shade, which is one of my priorities when camping in warm weather. Walking around the loop provides wonderful views. Bathrooms easy to access. Loop 1 has fewer trees/less shade but more open view of the dunes. A lovely spot! Wish I could have stayed longer.

Great campground. Well marked sites, fire rings, great restrooms. Good proximity to the dunes, only about 10 minute walk down the trail through the campgrounds. Beautiful place, highly recommended

Amazing location, right in the heart of the park. Campground is geared towards tent campers, so rvs/trailers should bring leveling blocks and be prepared for no hook ups. The bathrooms were some of the nicest ones I have experienced in a national park. (Sadly no showers)
Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed at site 55. Nice tree coverage, close to the bathrooms with out being too close. No one behind the site. It was suuuuuper windy while there, and the trees provide amazing wind blocking capabilities. Tent hardly moved, despite it sounding like a hurricane. Amazing site.

Honestly one of the very nicest campgrounds we have visited in Colorado. Clean, heated washrooms with flush toilets, solid Bear boxes and Bear-proof trash containers, and good soft platforms for our tents. Just a very enjoyable campground across the board. Highly recommend.
