What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

Beautiful campground nestled in the woods above Great Sand Dunes. Nice easy hiking trails from the campground give another beautiful view of the Dunes and the San Luis Valley.

Well kept grounds and bathrooms. We came to see the river run through and early May is cold and windy, but there was water.

Site and restrooms were clean. The sites are closer together than I like, but not terrible.
I enjoyed Great Sand Dunes NP more than I thought I would. The dunes were taller than expected. The water was flowing and the ripples were fun to watch.
The hike to nearby Zapata falls was worth the effort.

The campgrounds were well kept and managed. The bathrooms were brand new. And the campgrounds were so close to the great Sandunes. Just beautiful.

Sand dunes are very unique, definitely worth a visit. Camp sites are mostly small, so don't plan on a big rig at all. Bathrooms were clean and nice.
