Be aware that this campground is close to the freeway, and so traffic is a constant background noise.

We loved our time at Heaton Bay! We were in site #37 and it’s the best site in the place, in my opinion. It’s a large pull through lot and very private! We rode bikes along the Dillon Reservoir, ventured into Frisco and Breck, and just really enjoyed this campground for its proximity to things but also its beauty. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in Colorado again!

Absolutely gorgeous area. The site included a picnic table, bear box for storage (large) fire pit/grill, and a flat area for the tent. T01 had private water access which was great for paddle boarding! However, this specific site also seemed "open" and not as private as other options, as the picnic table and fire area were right next to the parking lot and vault toilets. People had to walk by the campsite several times. The campsite itself is near some gorgeous trails (Old Dillon Reservoir Loop is a 15 min walk away) and a 10 min drive away from town. Would stay here again.

Super nice campsite with amazing Mountain View’s in all directions. Site C29 is very private and hookups worked great. Easy access to riding trails to Frisco and the dam in other direction.
