Heaton Bay

Great spot to camp if you're going to a show at the Amphitheater, plenty of space in sites 7 and 8. Bring a bike!

Campsite had a lot of rocks to work around. Tent area was not the best due to all the rocks. Restrooms were kept super clean the whole weekend. It was very depressing to see how little water was left in the reservoir. We walked a good half mile out into what should have been the bay.

B loop,site 22. Good level site for our 21’ van. No campfires due to the fire ban, which was just fine with us.
The sites are close together, but separated by trees so you don’t see or hear your neighbor. The bathroom was close & clean. Our site was nice, despite Dillon Reservoir being so low. At full capacity, you would be able to access the lake from the path from the site. We were able to drive to the Dillon Marina ( the Frisco Marina is closed), & enjoyed kayaking on the reservoir. Loved the campground being so close to the bike path. We rode the 20 mi Dillon Reservoir loop counterclockwise which was great- fewer cyclists going this way, plus you get a nice climb up Swan Mtn Rd. The large bear vault came in very handy, not for our food, but to store our extra gear! It was a great spot to enjoy the beautiful sunrise.

The campground was beautiful. Lots of aspen and pine trees. Close to town. Site 70 would normally be really close to Lake Dillon if the water wasn't so low. Very private and away from the I70 noise.
