One if the most beautiful , clean, best water pressure campgrounds I've been at. I lived for 21 years bout 25 miles from it and never took the time to check it out. My bad. Host staff is wonderful people.

Perhaps the best campsite I have ever stayed in. Quiet, spacious sites. Lovely views. Site 10 where we stayed is probably the pick of the sites but you can’t go wrong with any of them. We visited Corkscrew Swamp which was very interesting even if there was little swamp when we visited in April.

We happened upon this campground while tent camping with the Cub Scouts at the regional park down the street (decided to look around on the GPS & spotted this little slice of paradise!).
Nice & quiet, kids love it for fishing.

Very nice infrastructure at this small park with friendly staff. All the sites are on the water. The dump station is very awkward especially for tote tanks. There is nothing to do here but there is a preserve just down the road with bike and hiking trails. The water looked pretty dirty and there were signs warning about toxic algae and algaecide being applied to the water.
The river has clearly been turned into a big ditch with all the environmental consequences. I believe this water way has been sited as a source for nutrients that cause red tides on the west coast because it drains the polluted water from the Okeechobee lake directly into the bay and gulf. With no benefit of filtering that results from a natural river the nutrient load is unabated. Of course the problem is much more extensive than just this ditch but this review is about the park on the ditch.
