What a great campground. Sites are clean as are the bathrooms. Showers are cold but in the warm Florida weather they feel great. Never did see any alligators but did see a beautiful sunset. Close to Everglades City. Make sure you are stocked up on supplies as it is a ways to any stores.

Lovely campground with spacious sites and a nice bath house. Scattered big trees. Bring bug spray.

This site is great for hammock camping! Close to toilets and showers but not too close to be a noise nuisance or people walking past your spot to get there. Great t mobile cell reception!

Very quiet and scenic, beautiful sunsets, sunrises and night sky. Alligators in lake.

This is a cool campground. If you are arriving at night be aware that the site numbers are only posted on the picnic tables at the campsites. I arrived very late the first night of my stay and had a difficult time finding my campsite as the campground map was not showing up for me on rec.gov. The campground was very peaceful at night. It IS right off the state road so be aware that there will be moderate noise from road traffic. The one thing that really sucks about this campground is the fact that there is only one bathhouse for the entire campground, and the women's (I imagine the situation is the same for the men's) has only one shower for the ENTIRE campground. All of the tent sites, all of the RV sites, everything. So you could end up waiting an hour or more to take a shower. There are pit toilets on the other side of the loop but the main bathhouse is the only option with running water. Couple that with the fact that people like to take their dear sweet time and do their 20-step skincare routine without a care of how many people might be waiting to shower, and well... Due to this fact alone, I will probably try to avoid camping here again.
There are gators in the lake obviously but leave them be and follow the rules and they won't be an issue. Another camper showed me a picture of a pigmy rattlesnake she saw walking around at dusk so keep an eye on the ground when you're walking around. I spent most of the time in flip-flops so just be aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine.

We have been to the park using the tent. The services provided are clean and in order. The volunteers are kind and friendly.
The location is quite and really beautiful especially during the sunrise.
The are only two items that are to take in consideration: the route 41 is very mouse especially during the night due to the truck traffic and this break the tranquility that we are researching when in camping.. the second one is the sun. At least in our space was under the sun all day long.. we should have more trees in the park.
In general was a good experience and knowing the place we surely choice a better spot to choose for next time.
Thanks to the volunteers for their amazing service!

Campground hosts were great, as were the long term campers. Feels safe (I camp alone.) Bathroom and shower clean and they have hot water.
Walking the loop around the lake at sunset is beautiful. I stayed 4 nights and saw a couple of gators but never out on the campgrounds. People scare me more than gators so if these animals bother you, this campground may not be your place.
Only downside was that it's so close to the Tamiami trail and the road noise was too much for me at night. Escaping traffic noise is the reason I drive 4 hours down there from Orlando. I won't go back only because of the proximity to the highway.
