What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained site with spacious, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a peaceful place to enjoy nature. Many visitors appreciate the gorgeous scenery, access to the lake, and the opportunity to see wildlife like armadillos and woodpeckers. Although there are some lingering effects from Hurricane Helene, including tree damage and a need for improvements in certain facilities, overall feedback suggests a positive camping experience.

As always the COE campgrounds are the best. Everything is well maintained and the staff always friendly. With a senior pass I pay a fraction of the cost of other campgrounds. Thank you for making my camping experience a great experience!

There's lots of trees down which makes for good firewood if it doesn't rain. Not much to do here but relax. Publix and Walmart are close by if needed. Parts of the lake was dried out. Pictures showed that the water would be in front of us but it was non- existent. Bathroom was warm and clean until last day. Rain flooded the campsite. Need more gravel over the dirt in some areas of the campsite. It was quiet for the most part. I probably would not come back to this one. No hiking trails.

Great campground. Just opened 23 sites back up. We stayed on 24 & 26. Both pull through on the lake or not so well full lake. It was very low. But still enjoyed the relaxing for 10 days. This park will be really nice with all the new campground items now. There are some beautiful spots for camping. There are no trees left, a few still there and you can tell the storm came right down the middle of it. Great walking area. The bathroom in the this area is open and nice. It has a washer/dryer for free that can be used. If you want firewood, it’s lying everywhere.

Great park. Gate attendant really helpful. Restrooms well taken care of. A shame to see all the tree damage after the last hurricane.

80% of trees have been cut so there’s no privacy. Check in and check out times are wrong on website and reservation email so someone from the park came banging on our door and was extremely rude asking if we were leaving that we should have already been gone. Check in is apparently at 1pm not 3pm like website says yet no one is at the check in point until 2pm-4pm everyday so makes zero sense. We love staying army corp but will NEVER return to this one

Petersburg was nice and quiet. Lot 6 was the best location foe being on the water.
The only drawback to my stay was that there is still a lot of cleanup that needs to happen, due to hurricane Helene, and the area leading into the campground has recently been logged, and all of that detracts from the beauty.
