What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground features friendly staff and well-maintained, clean facilities, making it a pleasant place to stay. Many campers appreciate the spacious, diverse sites and beautiful views, despite ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene, which has affected some amenities and scenery. While there are some drawbacks, such as restroom accessibility and low lake water levels, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

We spent New Years eve here. It was great! There had been quite a bit of damage done by a hurricane but I don't think it negatively impacted our experience. The scenery was still very beautiful and the restroom and showers were clean and well kept. I was sad that our stay here was so short. Plenty of space for hiking other activities.

Always enjoy this ACE camping ground.
The weather has been raw during my last two visits, so I'm going to hold off camping for a while.
While walking through the campsite recently, I noted that the cover to the electric panel on site 10 was lying on the ground and damaged to the point where it could not be reattached. This could be dangerous. I noted this last year as well.

The campground looked great. The workers did a great job of cleaning and restoring the campground after Hurricane Helene hit the area. Very satisfied.

always enjoy staying at Petersburg, even though the Hurricane took out a lot of the trees, it is still a very peaceful place to camp. Staff are helpful and always in a good mood.

Sad how much was lost because of Hurricane Helene, but it’s still my favorite local park. Staff are friendly and helpful. Sites are always clean.

The campground looks great after all the storm damage clean up. We camp there for many years our favorite local campground. Plenty of places to get things you need while camping. All ways quiet and peaceful.

I stayed in loop A, the only area open year-round. Its sites are all located along the shore of the lovely lake and are placed in such a way that, despite the massive loss of trees from Hurricane Helene, there is privacy and a view of the water. This time of the year there aren't a lot of campers, and that generally means a peaceful environment. Kudos to the many park employees and local loggers who worked
so diligently to restore this lovely camping area. Roger Marin Aiken, SC
